BJL awarded IPA CPD Gold accreditation for outstanding professional development.
We’ve tried for a long time to make sure we are gold standard when it comes to training and developing our people. Indeed throughout our 30-year history as an agency, continuous professional development has been absolutely central to what we do, fuelling our work, our creativity and our thriving internal culture that states we should “Stand for something, Take on anything”.
To get recognition of that huge investment in our people is a great achievement, particularly when it comes from a flagship industry body like the IPA – an organisation we’ve proudly been a member of for 18 years.
That’s why we wanted to share the news that we’ve been awarded IPA CPD Gold accreditation in recognition of our outstanding continuous professional development programmes.
We can’t really put it better than the IPA judges, who said about our submission: “BJL is an agency where individual aspirations are matched to those of the organisation.” They also noted that “opportunities are prevalent in all departments at all levels”, from trainees and apprentices right through to the continuing development of our partners and leadership team.
There are too many initiatives to list here, but amongst our longest running and most successful CPD programmes is ‘Basics & Brilliance’, an all-agency weekly session where we openly share new knowledge, skills and ideas. We also run fortnightly IPA Foundation study groups, long-term mentoring programmes and conduct significant outreach work with schools, colleges and universities to support young talent into the industry, backed up with an always rolling work experience programme (over 30 placements in 2017 alone!).
But it’s also about creating a strong CPD culture, and it’s here we make sure all of our people have a tailored training plan in place to suit them and to help them progress. In total, we recorded a phenomenal 2,675 CPD hours across the agency in 2017.
This helps us to excel as an agency, ensuring the team is equipped to deal with the challenges our clients bring to us. Most importantly, it also means we can have confidence that we’re looking after and developing our people to the highest possible standard.
