BJL team celebrate IPA Foundation Certificate awards.

We’ve been popping the champagne corks this week in honour of those BJL team members who have achieved their IPA Foundation Certificate.

BJL employees – Colette Alderson, Jess Davey, Tegan Dixon, Vickie Fawcett and Simon Ivers – discovered this week they had passed the award-winning and internationally-recognised learning programme.

Run by flagship industry body the IPA, the course provides its students with an essential overview of all areas of advertising. An online curriculum of 30 hours must be completed, with the qualification culminating in a 2-hour offline written exam.

The success of this year’s BJL intake comes shortly after the agency won IPA CPD Gold for our outstanding continuous professional development programmes. Last year we recorded over 2,600 CPD hours across the agency, which included regular IPA Foundation study sessions.

The qualification is aimed at relative newcomers in the advertising industry, providing them with a comprehensive overview of the brand communications process from start to finish, rather than just their chosen area.

Our intake featured a diverse mix of ages, job disciplines and educational and career backgrounds, but the course has been hugely beneficial to all. In particular, candidates have been able to improve their knowledge of the wider agency and brand communications process.

Managing Partner Jackie Holt said:  “We are delighted that everyone achieved this great result after all their hard work. We encourage everyone to keep on learning whatever their level, and see  the IPA Foundation Certificate as a key qualification to  give everyone a great base to build on in this  ever-changing dynamic sector..”

Planner Colette Alderson said: “The IPA Foundation Certificate has been a great learning experience, providing me with a really solid grounding in advertising while helping me to better understand how my job fits into the bigger agency picture, I’d really recommend it.”
